We are a 30 room hostel on St. Charles - we make affordable travel easy and fun, and we have fun doing it. We are responsible for making guests feel welcome and ensure a seamless experience for them with booking, check-in, during their stay, and at check-out. This includes providing relevant recommendations for activities, greeting guests with positivity and warmth when you are around them, and serving them at the bar as needed.

Front Desk experience at a hotel or hostel is a huge plus!


Providing information to guests about hostel policies, services, and amenities
Responding to requests from guests for assistance and information about the surrounding area and New Orleans at large.

Selling beds and/or rooms to “walk-in” customers
Entering/updating reservations
Posting charges to guest accounts
Processing payments from guests

Making necessary corrections to guest accounts
Informing housekeeping department about room status and availability
Being attentive and promptly responding to guest feedback, both positive and negative
Answering the hostel phone and responding to guest inquiries via email in a timely manner

Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization at the Front Desk area
Maintaining all daily logs
Passing on all pertinent information to the relieving agent
Ensuring follow-up and problem resolution for all guests who are in house and who have checked out
Reaching out to guests prior to check-in and post-departure to anticipate guest feedback
Balancing shift work and cash drawers

Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
Plan and present bar menu

Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
Comply with all food and beverage regulations
knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
Computer literacy

Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
Responsible Vendor’s Permit within 45 days of opening
